Statistical Modeling of the Influence of Electron Degeneracy on the Interatomic Interactions
ABSTRACT
It is shown that electrons forming simple and multiple covalent bonds may have different contribu-tions to the interatomic interactions due to the degeneracy of electron states. A simple relationship between the length of covalent bond, its order and atomic numbers of the interacting atoms is de-duced.
